To Apply for the Exemption from Registration Fees

To encourage participants from those contries where people are very difficult to recieve financial support for travel abroad for research purpose, the DC-2001 organizing committee plans on awarding registration fee exemption. If you wish to be exempted from registration fees, please follow the steps given below.

Please note that the invitation is based on a very small fund that the organizing committee is trying to make from various sources, e.g., donation from private companies and support from governmental institutions in Japan. Please do not apply for the exemption unless participation will be impossible without it.

The organizing committe will not provide any financial support for travel and accomodation. However, limited travel subsidies may be provided by DCMI (Dublin Core Metadata Initiative).

Application Procedure

To apply for the exemption from registration fees, you must follow the steps given below.
  1. Send an e-mail to dc2001-local@nii.ac.jp describing:
  2. You will receive a reply from the organizing committee, and will be notified of your identification number.
  3. Upon receipt of the identication number, you must complete the online registration form and submit it. Here you should:
  4. The organization committee will choose as many application as possible, then you will be notified of the result (accepted or rejected) by September 20.
  5. If your application is accepted, you must write back to the organizing committee, reconfirming that you will surely participate in DC-2001. The reconfirmation must be made within a week, otherwise you may lose your right for the exemption.
  6. Even if your application is rejected, you can still participate in DC-2001 at the Early Registration rates.
