== Purpose ==

The purpose of the DCMI Collection Description Application Profile Task Group is

 * to finalise the DCMI Collection Application Profile, taking into account comments made by the DCMI Usage Board in their provisional review at their meeting in October 2006
 * to establish and document policies/procedures for the ownership and maintenance of the DCMI Collection Description Application Profile
 * to establish and document policies/procedures for the ownership and maintenance of those terms used in the DCMI Collection Application Profile for which ownership is not currently specified

The Task Group reports to the [http://dublincore.org/groups/collections/ DCMI Collection Description Community].

== Workplan ==

 1. December 2006: Recruit/select Task Group members
 1. Early January 2007: Review Usage Board comments on DC CD AP
 1. January-February 2007: Amend data model, term definitions, DC CD AP as required. Deliverable: Revised data model, revised terms, revised DC CD AP.
 1. March 2007 - May 2007: Establish ownership of DC CD AP. Deliverable: Short note describing ownership, procedures for proposing amendments etc
 1. March 2007 - May 2007: Establish ownership of terms. Deliverable: Short note describing ownership, "namespace policy", procedures for proposing amendments etc

== Dublin Core Collection Application Profile ==

The focus of the Task Group is the development of the [http://dublincore.org/groups/collections/collection-application-profile/ Dublin Core Collection Application Profile] (DCCAP) and documents in this work area are created to support that activity.

The DCCAP is a specification of how to construct a DC description set containing descriptions of collections.
