This includes the following tasks: * Compare the core DC semantics and DCMI Abstract Model with kernel metadata elements and the Electronic Resource Citation (ERC) record structure for holding kernel resource descriptions. * Define a mapping between the Kernel description model and the description model provided by the DCMI Abstract Model (eg, how the Kernel "story context" affects the meaning of an element label). * Clarify the nature and status of Kernel elements and their relationships to DCMI terms. Work will be accomplished via a combination of email communication and conference calls. The current workplan follows: ||2006-12-20||Issue call for group members with existing draft KAP|| ||2007-08-16||Kickoff meeting via conference call|| ||2007-08-22||Issue revised Kernel specification|| ||2007-08-30||Report to Task Group and Advisory Board meetings, DC 2007|| ||2007-09-06||Issue draft 1.0 spec using feedback from DC 2007 conference|| ||2007-09-20||Conference call: review Kernel spec changes|| ||2007-10-19||Issue draft 1.1 KAP, call for comments|| ||2007-11-23||Issue draft 1.2 KAP, call for comments|| ||2007-12-21||Draft maintenance procedures, KAP review by DC-Arch|| ||2008-01-25||Final integration, KAP to Usage Board|| ||2008-02-22||Close down the Kernel Task Group|| ---- '''IMPORTANT:''' Do '''not''' cite materials in this Wiki other than for the purposes of collaborating on document creation. This Wiki is intended to be used to work on draft copies of documents. Finished documents will be published, in a persistent and citable form, on the [http://dublincore.org/ DCMI Web site] (or elsewhere in some cases). This Wiki supports the work of the DCMI Kernel Metadata Task Group. This is a Web-based collaborative area for the task group, providing a shared space where documents can be created and edited collaboratively. To edit documents in this Wiki you '''must''' first register, login and be given edit privileges by one of the Task Group chairs. If you do not have such privileges, you can read documents, but you can not edit them. ---- A WikiWikiWeb is a collaborative hypertext environment, with an emphasis on easy access to and modification of information. This wiki can also link to InterWiki space. MoinMoin is a Python Wiki:WikiClone, based on Wiki:PikiPiki. The name is a common German slang expression explained on the MoinMoin page. If you run a Wiki using MoinMoin, please add it to the MoinMoin:MoinMoinWikis page. Contributed code is on the MoinMoin:MacroMarket, MoinMoin:ActionMarket and MoinMoin:ParserMarket pages. For more details and further topics, see the MoinMoin page. ---- You can edit any page by pressing the link at the bottom of the page. Capitalized words joined together form a WikiName, which hyperlinks to another page. The highlighted title searches for all pages that link to the current page. Pages which do not yet exist are linked with a question mark: just follow the link and you can add a definition. To get an overview over this site and what it contains, see the SiteNavigation page. To learn more about what a WikiWikiWeb is, read about MoinMoin:WhyWikiWorks and the MoinMoin:WikiNature.
