Notes from 2007.09.20 KAP Task Group Conference Call
-
News: KAP mailing list created
-
Singapore paper highlights: Jon Mason paper on Application Profile development; Akira Miyazawa paper on parallel writing systems (possible kernel angle? Tom: CDAM accommodates multiple value strings), Douglas Campbell paper and BOF on identifiers (implications for metadata)
-
Singapore Kernel Community Meeting: 12 people (playing opposite the RDA meeting); reported on KAP group progress; discussion of modeling issues with regard to the AP; M. Nilsson says we're done when RDF can be generated automatically (eprints wiki syntax could be useful basis)
-
Specification review: consensus that "about-how" element was confusing and may be asking for trouble in terms of the AP development; perhaps best to constrain the "about" story to 4 (not 5) elements; Adrian says the anchoring story concept needs clarification and concrete examples of XML/ERC would be useful
-
Tom Baker elaborated on various points regarding creation of the application profile.
-
Action items: post Jon Mason slide [done], post Adrian's crosswalk [done], assign Kernel Term URIs [done], add all KAP group members as trusted wiki users [done]
-
The group's next call will be Thursday, 25 October for 60 minutes.
