1.13.3: coverage

Explanation Size Order Value Space Datatype
The extent or scope of the content of the resource (ISO 15836:2003). 0 or 1 - all, part Vocabulary

Technical Implementation Notes

Coverage here means "how much of the intellectual content in an original access mode is presented in this adaptation type". This defintion applies only to 1.13.3 coverage within an adaptation statement.

Vocabulary Recommendations

Choose from one of the following:
all - The adaptation is a complete replacement of the original access mode of the resource it is an alternate of.
part - The adaptation captures some of the content of the original access mode of another resource, but cannot, by itself completely replace that access mode.

For example, an adaptation might use both auditory and tactile content to convey the intellectual content of an image. If the auditory and tactile information must be used together to fully replace visual content of the image, each adaptation statement would indicate that coverage is “part.” On the other hand if either the auditory or the tactile information can be used separately to fully replace the visual image, each would indicate that coverage is “all.”
