1.6: hazard

Explanation Size Order Value Space Datatype
A characteristic of the resource that must not be delivered to the user. The characteristic would somehow harm the user; for example, it may induce a seizure. 0..* Unspecified flashing Vocabulary

Technical Implementation Notes

This element is used to indicate any potential health hazard from a flashing visual image contained in the content.

If the resource can be delivered without this characterstic, then the resource minus the characteristic is delivered. If that is not possible, then the resource should not be delivered at all.

If this element is absent, then the resource has no hazard.

Vocabulary Recommendations:

One one vocabulary entry is available, flashing. Choosing flashing, indicates that the resource, when displayed, exhibits flashing. Flashing is defined as "to give off light or be lighted in sudden or intermittent bursts" (Source: The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition Copyright © 2000 by Houghton Mifflin Company). This flashing may be text, animation, etc. It is expected that this vocabulary will be expanded by local implementers and in future interations of specifications and standards implementing Access4All.
