DC-2010 Conference in Pittsburgh. The agenda for that meeting is as follows:

1. The state of the RDA Vocabularies (Diane Hillmann)

1.1 Review of development and registration of RDA vocabularies on the Open Metadata Registry (http://metadataregistry.org/rdabrowse.htm)

1.2 Overview of decisions made, including generalized vocabulary, FRBR-bounded vocabularies with domains and ranges, and relationships between them

1.3. Status of discussion with JSC on implementation decisions and finalization of the work

1.4. Discussions with ALA Publishing about integrating the vocabularies into the RDAToolkit
-
1.5 Open issues:

1.5.1 Application profile(s) for RDA

1.5.2 Work with specialized communities concerning extensions and specializations of RDA

1.5.3 Ongoing maintenance of the Vocabularies--who does the work and who pays for it?

1.6 The BIG unspoken issue: Governance: will RDA development going forward (text and vocabs) follow the JSC development model?

2. Important related work (Gordon Dunsire)

2.1 Status of work on the FR family (FRBR, FRAD, and FRSAD), including RDF representation (approved version of FRBR due to be published before this session, in September 2010), combining the models, consolidation into a single model.

2.2 Status of work on RDF/XML representation of the consolidated edition of ISBD, including RDF representation of the ISBD element set and controlled vocabularies for Area 0, use of DCMI Application Profile to model record structure, constraints, etc., modelling of punctuation within and between ISBD areas.

2.3 General issues arising, including labels, definitions and scope notes, constrained and unconstrained representations, use of opaque URIs, feedback into standards development.

2.4 Relating FR, ISBD and RDA, including similar properties, sub-properties, classes, and relating all to high-level RDF elements such as SKOS, FOAF, etc.

2.5 IFLA Namespaces Technical Group and coordination and promotion of IFLA standards (a new form of universal bibliographic control).
