DC-2008 is pleased to announce two of four keynote speakers for this year's conference: Kurt Mehlhorn (Max Planck Society), and Ute Schwens (German National Library). In addition to this keynotes there will be paper and poster presentations and several open meetings of DCMI Communities, Task Groups and on other topics of interest to the community. Following the Call for Papers, the Program Committee received over 70 submissions for papers, posters and project reports that will be evaluated by 53 reviewers until 15 May 2008.]]>

Siderean Software, Inc., a Los Angeles-based semantic search company, has joined the British Library in stepping forward to assist in funding the DCMI/RDA Task Group. "The efforts of the library community in developing next-generation standards for cataloging metadata has the potential to inform the work of the Semantic Web community in ways that go far beyond its application to libraries," said Bradley Allen, Founder and CTO of Siderean.
