Session 2: IEEE LTSC Plenary The IEEE Learning Technology Standards Committee (LTSC) is holding plenary and working group meetings in conjunction with the DC-2003 Conference. This co-location is intended to encourage the continued exchange of ideas and joint work. Session 2 is the plenary session for the IEEE LTSC meeting. The plenary session will provide an excellent opportunity for DC-2003 participants interested in standards around learning technologies including metadata to get an overview of the process and substance of the LTSC work. Further details concerning the LTSC meetings will be made available at http://ltsc.ieee.org and linked from here. Session 3: IEEE-DCMI Joint Working GroupAdvancing the Ottawa Communique Session 3 is a post-Conference meeting of the ad hoc working group focused on the agenda (and any necessary modifications) stemming from the Ottawa Communique. The objectives of the Working Group in 2002-2003 are to continue discussion and development of proposals for the use of Dublin Core metadata in the description of educational resources. The scope includes educational resources applicable for many national education communities and cross-sectoral communities (e.g., pre-school, K-12, further and higher education, vocational and technical training, and lifelong learning). The Working Group will continue its work in the development of qualifiers to the DCMES and/or domain specific elements, element qualifiers and value qualifiers to describe educational materials for the purpose of enhancing resource discovery. |
