The Dublin Core Metadata Invitational Workshop Series began in March of 1995, convening a broad range of information professionals to address the problem of improving resource discovery on the Internet. The present workshop is the 6th in the series. The goal of this sixth workshop is to consolidate developments of various Dublin Core working groups, to share implementation experiences and strategies of existing pilot implementations, and to address key issues necessary to promote interoperability among Dublin Core implementations.
The workshop will convene at 9:00 AM on Monday, November 2 at the Library of Congress in Washington DC and will continue until mid-day on Wednesday, November 4.
The field of participants has been established by review by the organizing committee of nominations (self and otherwise).
Registrants are responsible for their own arrangements for accommodation. It is desirable to register at the workshop hotel, given the common occurrence of after-hours working group meetings.
The recommended hotel for the workshop is:
$169 USD Single occupancy, $179 USD Double Occupancy
The deadline for hotel reservations at the workshop rate (subject to availability afterwards) is Friday, October 9. Mention the Dublin Core Metadata Workshop to obtain workshop rate.
The L’Enfant Plaza is conveniently located a block from the Smithsonian Institution and a 20 minute walk from the Library of Congress. It has direct connections to the DC-Metro, with excellent connections to Washington National Airport. Washington Dulles International Airport is accessible as well, though it is less convenient and ground transport to the hotel will be more costly.
