In the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, there may be disruptions in the access to the Dublin Core™ Metadata Registry, hosted by the Research Center for Knowledge Communities at the University of Tsukuba.

DCMI is pleased to announce that the National Library of Finland, the organization that was the first affiliate of DCMI in 2003, has decided to extend its membership for another three years until 2014.

The organizing committee of DC-2011, to be held 21-23 September 2011 in The Hague, is pleased to announce the keynote speakers for the conference: Emmanuelle Berms who is well known for her work on the application of new technologies in the domain of libraries and cultural heritage, and Mikael Nilsson who is a leading expert in issues related to interoperability across metadata standards.

DCMI and the FOAF Project have agreed in principle to tighten the alignment between DCMI Metadata Terms and the FOAF (Friend of a Friend) Vocabulary two specifications often used together in applications, especially in the Linked Data space.
